This grape variety is exclusive to a single location in Greece - the Kalavrytino region, where it thrives in vineyards situated at an elevation of 800 meters. These vineyards are nestled in the limestone-rich soil of the Peloponnesian mountains. The Mavro Kalavrytino grapes used for this wine are meticulously hand-picked from 25-year-old bush vines.

Tasting characteristics:  This wine boasts a vibrant ruby red hue and exudes the essence of summer in its aromas. It offers delightful notes of strawberry and cherry, accompanied by nuanced hints of leather and earthiness. The palate is soft and pleasing, featuring refined acidity and a delightful roundness.

The winery: The brothers Aristides and Stathis Spanos found it absolutely natural to be involved in grape growing and wine production early in their lives.
The love for the vineyards and wine led them to more dynamic activity.
In 1999 they meet Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos, an oenologist ,who also comes from the area,and they produce the first bottles of tetramythos. In the years that follow new vineyards are planted and in 2003 starts the construction of a tasteful winery which is completed in 2004.
