Barba Stathis’ vegetables are harvested at the ideal stage of maturity. They are then immediately frozen so as to preserve all their freshness, vitamins and flavour, thus remaining as fresh as the moment they were harvested.
Instructions:
Ingredients (for 4 persons)
1 packet of Barba Stathis Stewed Green Beans, 1000g
1 cup of Grated Tomatoes
2 cups of water (if using a pot) or 1 cup of water (if using a pressure cooker)
salt, pepper
Cooking in a pot
Steam the contents of the packet with 1 cup of water for 5-7 minutes over low heat. Turn the heat up, add the salt, pepper, tomato, olive oil and 1 cup of water and stir gently. As soon as it comes to a boil, put the lid on the pot, turn the heat down by half and let it simmer for approximately 35-45 minutes.
Cooking in a pressure cooker
Execute the recipe as described above, but use half the quantity of water (1 cup, only for steaming). Put the lid on the pressure cooker and once the valve rises, turn the heat down by half and let it simmer for approximately 10 minutes
