This cylindrical treat is immersed in syrup after frying. The name "Tulumba" is derived from the Turkish word for "pump," reflecting its shape, influenced by the Italian tromba and ultimately rooted in the Persian term "tolombe" for pump. Crafted from dough formed into small oval shapes with ridges, it is fried to a golden hue before being delicately drenched in sweet syrup while still warm. It's best enjoyed cold.
