Meze are small dishes to share, usually with a drink. This platter combines golden grilled Greek cheese with a fresh vegetable salad and a yogurt dip, and is on the table in a quarter of an hour.
Serves: 4 | Prep: 15 min | Cook: 10 min
Ingredients
- 200 g Greek grilling cheese
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 red onion
- A handful of black olives
- 200 g Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh dill or dried oregano
- Salt and pepper
- Pita bread to serve
Method
- Dice the cucumber, tomatoes and onion and mix with the olives, 1 tbsp olive oil, half the lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- Stir the yogurt with the rest of the lemon juice, a pinch of salt and the dill.
- Cut the cheese into 1 cm slices and grill them in a hot grill pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- Warm the pita briefly in the same pan.
- Arrange everything on a board and drizzle the cheese with the remaining olive oil.
Tips
