Greek Olive Oil Prices Update

Lately, olive oil prices in Greece have experienced a tremendous surge. The shortage of olive oil stocks, combined with domestic inflation, has led to a rapid increase in prices. Here are some key points to be aware of:

Last November, at the beginning of the 2022/23 crop year, Greek olive oil prices ranged between €3.70 and €3.80 per kilogram of extra virgin olive oil. By January 2023, prices had risen to €4.50 per kilogram. This summer, prices have reached, and in some cases exceeded, a staggering €9.00 per kilogram - wholesale price. Retail prices in the Greek shelves nowadays can reach even €18.00 per litre!

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, the relatively low production of olive oil projected for Greece in the upcoming 2023/24 crop year, combined with ongoing inflation, is expected to maintain high olive oil prices in the country in the coming months.

In light of the recent olive oil price surge and rising food prices in Greece, we want to reassure you that we are committed to keeping our prices as low as possible. We know that affordability is a key consideration for our customers in those challenging times, and we want to be your trusted source for high-quality products at always reasonable prices. In case you have any questions we will be glad to address them.
