About the product: Petimezi is a Greek-style molasses syrup that is made from boiled-down grapes. Greek natives, both ancient and modern, have used it to sweeten things such as beverages, pastries and puddings. It contains all the nutrients and healthful characteristics as grapes, making it a diet-friendly alternative to jams, jellies and sugary syrups.

Petimezi can complement more than just sweet desserts and breakfast foods. It also can complement rich meats, such as turkey and wild game, either as a marinade or as an ingredient in gravy or dressing. Unlike its sweeter counterparts, petimezi has a slightly bitter undertone that complements savory foods. Adventurous cooks could experiment with simmering their favorite Mediterranean fruits in petemezi before pouring it over the meat. This sweet and savory combination is popular among Greek cooks.

About the company: The vinegar PAROS was founded in 1949 by the Sifneos family. Through a dynamic development over 60 years the company now belongs to the big names in the business and continues its dynamic course armed with modern technology, innovative culture and prestige of tradition. Its products made of the finest varieties are a benchmark in quality and give off the aroma of Greece and the bright sun.
The innovation lies in the "genetic material" of the company since by its first steps special barrels were invented and built, as a variety of the french model of fermentation, in order to increase production and improve quality.
The first successes brought development and in the early 1960's the first bottles labeled by PAROS started to came out. Then, as in previous years, large quantities were the wholesale and sold in barrels. The grocers of the era sold the bulk of vinegar and its use by the consumers, had several aspects. Over the years the retail has gradually replaced the wholesale and this trend has changed the type of production. While the demand is mainly on the shelf, strict standardization of products has been one way and the high consumption is given directly by ordinary consumers to buy their favorite vinegar in the bottle of PAROS company.
It was the time when the state television has surpassed the embryonic stage and first professional advertising campaigns recreate the program. Among them the advertisement of the vinegar PAROS was so successful that the people still remembers today.
In the 1980's the vinegar PAROS Sifnaiou first introduced in the Greek market the apple cider vinegar and brought flavoury and commercial revolution in a class of low consumer interest was dormant for many decades. Recently, the Glykoporfyro, launches fruitaigrettes, a new concept in the field of flavorings based on wine vinegar and impurities from natural fruit extracts.
By tradition in acidification over half a century the family Sifnaiou uses the most advanced technology to manufacture a wide variety of vinegar in the most authentic way. The high quality of products PAROS is recognized by international certificates ISO 9002 and HACCP food hygiene. Experience and passion are present at all stages of production, from selection of raw materials (only wide selection of Greek wines and natural apple juice) to the fermentation, processing and bottling, which are constantly updated on the company premises in Acharnes.
